Fantastic fundraising for 'Team One-Eighty' at the Blenheim 7k 2024!

What an amazing day we had

Together we raised a tremendous £9,000!

One-Eighty Charity Fundraising - Blenheim 7k

This is the third year we have taken part in the Blenheim 7k fun run, walk and dog walk - it really is a wonderful opportunity to bring everyone together to raise essential funds for One-Eighty.

Our team of 44 consisted of dogs, children, runners and non-runners; the weather was beautiful and everyone had a huge smile throughout.

Despite the heat, we had some amazing runners and our 4-legged friends made it round safely - still wagging their tails at the end.

Thank you to our sponsors.

You couldn’t miss us!

We were there in our bright orange t-shirts - this year generously sponsored by members of the BNI Spires chapter and other local businesses. Kick Asset Finance, Cherry Picked Residential, North Oxford Developments, Cinch Telecoms, Aspray Oxford, Keep Warm Heating Oxford, J Priest and Family Ltd, Oxon Tech, Andrews Electrics and 465 Office as well as local businesses Berry Carpentry Ltd and 123ICT.

Thank you to our Corporate Supporters.

One of our VERY fast runners Erin and her employer Mace Foundation who match funded her sponsorship.

A massive thank you to Mark who was match funded by his employer Carter Jonas and who also completed the course in a very quick time!

And to Neil who was also match funded by his employer Keyloop.

And to our amazing team of Revvity runners - we are so thrilled to have your ‘Charity of the Year’ support this year!

Why support One-Eighty?

Fundraising supports us to do more to reach young people who fall through the cracks between education and health; enabling more young people to be supported one-to-one with an intensive intervention.

It can also support your local school to receive our preventative mental health projects - reaching young people at an earlier stage to prevent them reaching a crisis point in the future and requiring intensive support.

Our runners choose to support One-Eighty for a variety of reasons, but all had one goal in mind; to raise money and make a real difference and to hopefully get a bit fitter in the process!

Matthew, Teacher at Glory Farm School, Bicester said;

I am a primary school teacher and feel very passionately about keeping children within education and giving children the support and purpose that a lot need, due to the stories that have been written for them.

Also, I am 33, overweight and needed an outlet to find a way to get fit again. So, not only did I have a personal goal, I also wanted to find a charity that coincides with my beliefs as a teacher, to raise money and awareness to give that little bit back to help those children.

One-Eighty was the perfect choice for me, because everything they are setting out to do, is what I believe needs to be done. Thank you so much for allowing me to not only achieve my goals of running again and being healthy, but for raising awareness and money for those children who unfortunately get missed within the system. My story continues, as will the children’s stories who One-Eighty are supporting

Tamsin, a social worker said;

I decided to complete the Blenheim 7k for One eighty because I know from firsthand experience how valuable the work is that the team do with young people.

As a social worker I have worked alongside One-Eighty with several young people who all had extensive additional needs whether that be due to a diagnosis of ASD or ADHD or struggling with their mental health. What the young people all had in common was how their needs impacted their ability to attend a school or alternative education provision, in turn impacting their educational attainment and affecting their family network, other social issues and their long-term life opportunities.

The support that One-Eighty provides enables young people to re-engage with education. Their tailored, model of support works alongside the young person, parent/carer and other professionals, enabling the young person to set goals for themselves.

With persistence and tailored engagement, they make such progress. The psychology-focused support enables both the young person and parent/carer to better manage their behaviours and emotions, giving them tools and strategies to build mental health resilience.

There are so many young people who would benefit from this service, so I wanted to raise money for One-Eighty to enable more young people to receive their support. I am proud to have been able to have supported One Eighty and would not hesitate to support them with future events”

Thank you to our runners and walkers, their sponsors and supporters.

Without you we could not carry on with our vital work!
