Volunteer - get involved

We are a small but growing staff team. Demand for our work continues to increase across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Our volunteers are essential to enable us to reach more young people.

We have a variety of roles across the organisation, directly supporting young people or working behind the scenes on our communication and marketing. Get in touch at volunteer@one-eighty.org.uk to discuss the opportunities and the process in more detail.

Every volunteer plays a part in enabling lives to be turned around.

Preventative Mental Health Project Worker

Project Delivery (Emotional Regulation) - Make Me Smile, Kick Start, Transitional / Standard Summer Project

The role of Preventative Mental Health Project Worker will support the Project Lead in the preparation for, and delivery of, One-Eighty’s preventative mental health projects including Make Me Smile, Kick Start and the Summer Project.

There is also the opportunity of assisting with the marketing of projects, particularly Make Me Smile and processing of feedback from young people attending the project.

Communications Assistant - Marketing and Social Media

The role of Communications Assistant sits within the Development Team.

Working to a Communications Plan, you will be researching, developing and creating content for all our Communications platforms – this could be social media, news pages on our website, print and email communications. We currently use Canva for our graphic design – this is very user friendly, and templates have been created for all social media platforms. Training can be given or depending on your experience, you would be able to use alternative graphic design packages such as Adobe or Indesign.

Fundraising Administrator

The role of Fundraising Administrator is to provide administration support to the Fundraising team. This primarily involves keeping Donorfy (a Fundraising CRM system) up to date. It may also involve sending ‘templated’ thank you letters to donors, contacting potential supporters with follow-up information relating to a fundraising event (such as The Blenheim 7k Fun Run) and chasing people for information ahead of events.

Unrestricted income is vital to One-Eighty to enable us to continue to grow and reach more young people. This volunteering opportunity will strengthen resources in the Fundraising team to enable them to focus on generating income.

Trust Funding Researcher

The role of Trust Funding Research Volunteer will support the Fundraising team to understand  new opportunities for Trusts and Foundations funding applications, and to prioritise applications accordingly.

Using a variety of sources, the Trust Funding Research Volunteer will identify and review potential funding opportunities against set criteria and provide a summary/overview of the type of application that is needed. This forms One-Eighty's ‘qualifying process.’
